Synopsis: We are seeking a Mid‑Level Electro‑Mechanical Technician to support engineering test activities, prototype builds, and product development for marine valve actuator systems and related electromechanical equipment. This role focuses on executing and documenting shock, vibration, EMI/EMC, thermal, and life‑cycle testing, as well as supporting cable fabrication, prototype assembly, and engineering documentation.
The technician will work closely with the Engineering Test Program Manager and support multiple engineering teams during development, qualification, and production readiness. Duties include but not limited to: • Using SolidWorks to create, update, and manage 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation. • Performing and/or monitoring shock, vibration, EMI/EMC, thermal, and life‑cycle tests in accordance with prescribed standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑167, MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑901). • Preparing test setups, instrumentation, fixtures, and data‑acquisition equipment. • Recording, organizing, and reporting test results with high accuracy. • Supporting prototype builds, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis. • Creating and updating cable drawings, wiring diagrams, and harness documentation. • Assembling and testing electromechanical prototypes and subassemblies. • Building test fixtures, cables, and custom tooling to support engineering and production. • Supporting first‑article inspections and qualification test readiness. • Assisting manufacturing during periods of high demand. • Maintaining test equipment, calibration status, and lab organization. • Some travel to test labs may be required. • Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience • Demonstrated experience performing environmental and qualification testing (shock, vibe, EMI/EMC, thermal, endurance). • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations). • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on assembly skills. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and test procedures. • Proficiency soldering, crimping, and assembling cable harnesses. • Familiarity with data‑acquisition systems, sensors, and instrumentation. • Experience with electromechanical systems and geared mechanisms. • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple test activities. • Competency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). • Demonstrated ability to perform independent field service work in industrial or naval environments. • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. • Hands‑on experience assembling, repairing, and testing electromechanical systems. • Familiarity with geared mechanisms, motors, sensors, and control electronics. • Competency soldering, crimping, and building cable assemblies. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Professional communication skills in customer‑facing environments. • Organized, independent, and effective at prioritizing competing tasks and projects 1. Highly Desired Skills • 3D printing experience in a rapid‑prototyping environment. • Experience supporting rotating machinery, couplings, or adjustable‑speed drive systems. • Experience with shipboard systems, naval maintenance, or DoD equipment. • Experience writing field service reports or technical documentation. • Machining, woodworking, or fixture‑fabrication experience. • Experience with environmental or qualification testing. 2. Qualifications • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to defense contract requirements. • Background check will be performed. • 4–7 years of relevant electromechanical experience, including field service, assembly, troubleshooting, or engineering support. • A technical Bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
$33.00 - $42.00 per hours
